DMAA Approves Board Changes at Annual Business Meeting

DMAA: The Care Continuum Alliance yesterday appointed Gordon K. Norman, MD, MBA, Executive Vice President for Science and Innovation, Alere, as its new Board of Directors Chair.

DMAA members also unanimously approved other Executive Committee positions, new Board members and other leadership changes.

In addition to Dr. Norman, Executive Committee appointments included Secretary Paul Wallace, MD, Medical Director for Health and Productivity Management Programs, Senior Advisor, The Care Management Institute and Avivia Health, The Permanente Federation, Kaiser Permanente; Treasurer Jan Berger, MD, Chief Clinical Officer, CVS Caremark Corp.; Government Affairs Committee Chair Christopher Coloian, Senior Vice President, Health Services, Health Dialog; Quality and Research Committee Chair Rose Maljanian, Senior Vice President, Product Innovation, Magellan Health Services; At-Large member Jack Mahoney, MD; and Immediate Past-Chair William C. Popik, MD.

DMAA recognized the contributions of departing Board members, including Susan Jennings, PhD, an independent consultant and co-chair of the DMAA Outcomes Steering Committee; David B. Nash, MD, MBA, Population Health Management Editor-in-Chief and Chair, Department of Health Policy, Jefferson Medical College; and James Pope, MD, FACC, Chief Operating Officer, Healthways Inc.

Also at the meeting, DMAA welcomed four new members to its Board of Directors:

  • Katie Brookler, Section Manager, Quality, Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing.
  • Joseph Kvedar, MD, Founder and Director, Center for Connected Health, Partners Healthcare.
  • Vicki Shepard MSW, ACSW, MPA, senior vice president, Strategic and Government Relations, Healthways.
  • Sue Willette, Principal, Mercer Health & Benefits

DMAA also approved two Board members for second three-year terms: Coloian and John Sory, Vice President, Pfizer Inc.
